The village is built amphitheatrically, at an altitude of 697 meters, above the beautiful plane forest of the springs of the Aroanios River. In some of the huge, old plane trees the diameter of the trunk reaches 4 meters!

The Planetarium area is located:
Within the Natura 2000 site “Mount Helmos and Stygos waters”.
The largest part of the plantain forest belongs to the Kalavryta Forestry Department and the association of Mills, Water Mills and Fish Farms of the Planetarium.
From Planitero there are interesting hiking trails to:

E4 path to Lousous (4 hours)
